How to use the referrals function

Updated over a week ago

Let’s take a look at how to navigate through making and sending referrals.

Where to find Referrals within a Patients Chart

To access a patient's referrals, navigate to your patient of choice.

Once you have selected a patient, you can select the tab Referrals. Within this section of the patient chart, it will show you a list of previous referrals.

Creating and Sending a New Referral

Once you have navigated to the Referrals tab within a patients chart, you can select the New button.

By selecting New, a new set of fields will appear on the right hand side of the page. This will include the referral date, service, consultant, fax number, urgency, reason for referral, and any notes for your staff.

You can select the Address Book to choose who or where you would like this referral to be faxed to.

Once you have selected the provider or location that you would like this referral faxed to, you can complete the remaining fields within the referral such as Service, Urgency, and Reason for Referral. Once you have filled out the referral and it is ready to be sent, you can select the eFax button.

Viewing Global Referrals for your Clinic

You can view referrals within the global Referrals tab within Arya located at the top which is broken down into Incoming, Outgoing, and Sent referrals.

Within the Incoming referrals tab, you can see the referrals that your clinic is receiving. You can assign the referral to a user, view the patients chart, open a side bar with the patients profile, or add a task relating to the referral.

The Outgoing referrals tab will show a list of all referrals that have been faxed from your clinic. Within this section, you can update the fax with the Address Book and eFax accordingly.

Note: You can also delete outgoing faxes from here if you do not wish the referral to send.

The Sent referrals tab will show a list of all referrals that were successfully faxed and sent to the recipient.
