Let’s take a look at how to navigate through making and sending referrals.
Accessing Referrals
To access a patient's referrals, navigate to the patient chart. From there, you can select the Referrals tab. This section will show you the list of patient's referrals: both incoming and outgoing.
Creating and Sending a New Referral
In the Referrals tab, you can click the New button:
This will open a new Referral form for you to fill out. You can indicate the referral date, service, provider, reason for referral, and any notes for your staff.
To indicate the Receiving Provider, click the Address Book and choose the necessary contact from there. These details will be populated in the 'To' section of the generated referral letter.
NOTE: The 'Comments' field of the form is internal and is visible only to the users of your Arya clinic.
The body of the letter should go into the 'Reason for Referral' field.
Once you have completed the remaining fields within the form, you can click Print to see the preview of the letter generated by the system. This is the final look of your referral letter.
It includes the patient demographics and the sections from the patient Profile overview.
To send the Referral to the receiving provider, click eFax at the top of the page:
The referral gets added to the eFax Outbox. You can attach any other relevant documents if necessary (results, notes, forms, etc.). After that, navigate to the Outbox and send the referral.
Alethea eConsult
In the outgoing referrals, you can also notice the eConsult button. It is present for patients with BC, AB, SK, or NWT selected as 'Insurer'.
You can launch Alethea eConsult directly from here by clicking this button. When launched, you can login and Arya will automatically populate patient demographic and medical history information.
