An Overview of Dr. Bill and Support

In this article, you will learn everything from setting up your account to who to connect with when needing Dr. Bill support.

Overview on getting started with Dr. Bill

To set up billing from Arya and ensure that Dr. Bill is connected to your account, navigate to the global Billing tab and select New Billings.

You can create a new bill by entering a patient name and inputting the Fee Code and ICD code, then click Create Billing. Once you are ready to submit the billing, you can click the Submit button. A dialog should open prompting you to either login or setup a new Dr. Bill account. Choose the option that is relevant to you.

Once you have successfully logged into Dr. Bill via Arya, you will be connected and can submit your bills directly from Arya.

Understanding how Arya and Dr. Bill are connected

In BC, although you will be performing all of your billings through Arya, on the backend for billing submissions, we are integrated with Dr. Bill to submit your claims to MSP.

All bills in Arya will appear under the Pending view at first. Once they are processed with Dr. Bill, they will either appear in Completed which means the bills were processed, or will appear in Rejected if there was an issue with the bill.

How to create and edit bills in Dr. Bill

You have the opportunity to create and edit your bills directly within Dr. Bill. Once you have logged into Dr. Bill, you can select the button New Claim in the top right-hand corner of your dashboard.

This will direct you to a New Claim page where you can fill out the necessary fields for the bill you are wanting to create.

If you would like to edit an existing claim directly in Dr. Bill, navigate to the Claims tab at the top of the Dr. Bill page. In the Claims page, you can scroll down to view all claims. There is a search bar at the top, and you can also filter by submission errors, rejected bills, etc.

Once you have found the bill that you wish to edit, you can select View at the far right of the bill. This will bring up the Claim Summary for that bill. You can select the Edit button which is found on the right-hand side of the page. This will bring up the page as seen in the above picture. You can edit the information directly from here and select Save when you have made the necessary changes.

Navigating through Dr. Bill

Dr. Bill has 4 main tabs that are found at the very top of the page.

Patients

Patients is where you can find a list of all your patients.

From here, you can create a New Claim for the patient if you wish to create a claim directly within Dr. Bill. You can Check Eligibility if you wish to check the MSP coverage for a patient. You can Edit the patient information that is within Dr. Bill. Lastly, you can Refer Patient if you would like to send a No Charge Referral directly from Dr. Bill.

Claims

Claims is where you can find your Claims dashboard. This will show you all claims that you have made. You can filter by all claims, submission error, rejected, paid with adjustment, and more.

This page will show you the Total Billed and Total Paid for your account. It will also show you a bar chart for your bills and payments with the corresponding dates. At the bottom of the page is where you can find the list of claims.

Groups

Groups is where you can find and create groups for claims in Dr. Bill. If you have claims that apply to a multiple of patients, you can create a group and add the corresponding patients to the group.

Once you have created the group, you can add patients, share the group with colleagues, download the group information, and view the group.

Reports

Reports will provide you with a dropdown menu where you can choose Payments, Invoices, or Income & Expense.

Payments will provide you with a list of payments for your account. You can select the date range that you wish to be reflected in the report at the top of the page. The report will tell you the remittance, total payment, payment date, and actions.

Invoices will provide you with a list of invoices or refunds for your account. You can select the date range that you wish to be reflected in the report at the top of the page. You can select whether you would like to view invoices or refunds as well. This report will show you the invoice #, status, date, description, charges, credit, subtotal, tax, total, and the option to view the invoice.

Income and Expense will provide you with a summary report for your income and expenses. You can select the date range that you wish to be reflect in the report at the top of the page.

Once you select the date range, it will provide you with a summary report that shows total payments, total expenses, claims summary, accounts receivable balance, and the write-offs balance.

Dr. Bill support vs. Arya support

You can receive support for billing through both Arya and Dr. Bill. Depending on the status of the bill and where you are requiring support, accessing support will either be through Arya or through Dr. Bill directly.

If you have questions and are requiring support for billing directly within Arya, you can contact Arya support through our support engine.

If you have non-urgent questions and are requiring support for billing that has been submitted to Dr. Bill. You can contact Dr. Bill directly through their support engine. Dr. Bill will reply within a 5-7 business day window. Dr. Bill also has help articles that may answer some of the questions that you have.
