If you are a locum or registering one under the LFP Billing Model, the process is similar to the regular LFP billing model; however, you must use the locum registration code before submitting any LFP bills for patients.
To bill as a locum, you must have a Dr. Bill account connected to Arya. Please review the article below to ensure all required steps and documents have been completed.
Once your Dr. Bill account is set up and integrated with Arya, navigate to the Edit My Profile tab in the top-right dropdown menu. Under the Billing Info tab, you can add any default billing settings.
You can now register as a locum under the LFP billing model directly within a patient’s chart!
Please ensure the following information is present in the patient's Demographics section before billing:
First name
Last name
Insurer
Health Number
Date of Birth
To register a locum under the LFP Payment Model, follow these steps:
Navigate to the Patient-Level Billing Tab
Select the locum in the Assigned To section
Click Add Billing. A blank billing entry will appear
In the Fee Code column, enter the LFP Payment Model Locum Registration Code: 98005
In the ICD Code column, enter L23, this is the ICD code associated with the LFP Payment Model
Once all required fields are completed, click Submit to register the locum for the LFP Payment Model
Submitting LFP Locum Time Codes
Locums can submit times codes, similarly to host physicians; however, there are a few differences.
Facility number must match the Host Physician's Facility Number. This can be added in the Additional Billing Info window, accessed by clicking the i icon on the right side of the bill. Be sure to confirm the correct Facility Number with the Host Physician.
The host physician should be inputted in the Referring Physician column of the bill.
Any of the following time codes can be added for a locum:
98040: Locum Clinic-based Direct Patient Care Time
98041: Locum Indirect Patient Care Time
98042: Locum Clinical Administration Time
